1990s collection.

OG, Kush, and Chem.

A Grateful Dead show parking lot. A bag seed. Massachusetts. The seed went on a tour bus to Colorado, the cut went to LA, and by 1996 the OG family was rewriting every catalog in California. That is the 90s in one paragraph.

The 90s in our vault is four strains. OG Kush is the anchor. Bubba Kush is the Pre-98 indica mother that defined late-decade Kush flavor. Master Kush is the Dutch hybrid that bridged the Afghani 70s with the Skunk era. Purple Kush locked the Hindu Kush x Purple Afghani phenotype in Oakland by 1995 and has held that pheno for thirty years.

This is the densest decade in our current catalog. If you grew up smoking in the 90s, four of these seven strains are why.

Milestones

  1. 1991Chemdawg appears in a Massachusetts/Colorado seed run from a Grateful Dead show.
  2. 1992Master Kush released in Amsterdam.
  3. 1993OG Kush identified in Florida; moves to Los Angeles over the next three years.
  4. 1994White Widow wins the High Times Cup.
  5. 1996Pre-98 Bubba Kush mother selected in Los Angeles.

The blueberry expression that opened the fruit-terp era of cannabis breeding.

1994 · Sensi Seeds, Netherlands. Haze x Northern Lights x Shiva Skunk.

The 90s Dutch attempt to compress Haze into a finishable form. Pine and lemon over old-school speed.

1994 · Bred by Shantibaba (Mr. Nice / Greenhouse Seeds)

White Widow won the 95 Cup and changed how we judge resin coverage. Still a benchmark.
