Landrace Atlas

Where the genetics
actually come from.

Every hybrid in a modern catalog descends from a landrace that grew somewhere specific for two thousand years before anyone bred anything. The landrace pages are where we credit those places, document the climate and plant morphology, and list what we currently stock from each region.

What counts as landrace

Strict definition: a population that evolved in geographic isolation, selected by climate and human use over many generations, without modern hybridization. By that bar there are maybe fifteen real landraces worldwide. We use the term carefully and only credit a region for cultivars whose parent line traces there. Hindu Kush qualifies. OG Kush does not, even though its name says Kush.
