Thailand
Highland sativa, Thai-stick lineage
Climate
Equatorial monsoon. Hot, wet, 12-hour days year-round. Pure sativa territory.
Plant morphology
Tall, narrow-leaf, slow. 200 to 350 cm. 14 to 18 week flower. Spear-shape colas, low resin, head-soaring effect.
Thai cannabis was the most-imported sativa in the US from 1965 to about 1978. The "Thai stick" format (cured flower lashed to a bamboo skewer with hash oil) made the highland Thai sativas into household names a generation before the Dutch seed era began.
These plants are equatorial. They flower for 14 to 18 weeks. Most have no autoflowering trigger because they evolved at the equator where day length never drops below 12 hours. They grow tall, lean, and slow. In the right environment they make spear-shaped colas that have to be seen to be understood.
