Terpene Profile

Incense.

church incense · myrrh · dry temple wood

Incense is the temple-wood / myrrh / dry-spice register that some Afghani indicas share with central African sativas like Malawi Gold. Spiritual sativa on the African side; hash-grade indica on the Afghani side. Same terpene family, different expressions.

The vocabulary

Church incense

Dry, sweet, slightly bitter. Malawi runs heavy here.

Myrrh

Resinous-bitter. Hindu Kush at higher elevations expresses it.

Dry temple wood

Cedar plus sandalwood plus age.

How incense got here

Incense terps are rare in modern hybrids. They survived in the landrace lines that escaped the breeding wars. Malawi Gold is the gold standard. Hindu Kush and Mazar carry it on the indica side.
